Lugludum is an indie video game studio based in Lyon (Fr) with only one person, Ludovic Bas. He considers itself as a solodev & co (because everybody needs extra right?).
Ludovic started making web games for kids in 2010, then got lost in the world of e-learning where he poked around in just about every industry.
A history geek at heart, he eventually quit his job to start a studio focused on historically inspired games. The studio name, Lugludum, is a tribute to Lugdunum, the ancient Roman name for Lyon, his hometown. He playfully replaced dunum (hill) with ludum (game) to reflect his creative mission.
His first big project, Graal Seeker, failed to secure funding. Then came a long detour: 10 years, zero indie releases...but plenty of serious games that trained thousands of professionals and branded experiences that helped sell luxury products.
Enter the Playdate: a tiny yellow console with a crank, and just the right constraints to get things done. In 2023, Ludovic finally shipped The Scrolling Enigma, a quirky little escape game.
He's now working on Crankstone, a fast-paced gallery shooter with mini-games. Someday, Graal Seeker might rise again.
